简介:

Teaching has been such an amazing adventure for me. My teaching career started in North

West Province, South Africa where I engaged in a USA teaching program in Brooklyn, New

York. That experience was life changing because it was in a different country and I worked

with a wide variety of diverse students and culture. I taught SAT level English and

Economics during these years. This experience made me want to learn more about other

cultures around the world so I applied to Endeavor (one of the biggest, high impact, job

creating organisations in the world).

With Endeavor I taught Economics and Business studies, the experience enabled me to work

with various entrepreneurs from all around the world. People who had high impact businesses

in South Africa, Brazil, Europe and the USA. I worked with the various programs and our

aim was to educate businessmen and women on the ins and outs of their social and economic

footprint.

This has led me to adopt one major philosophy: Students need to experience success and to

be encouraged to believe that they are capable of more. Even those who already own big

businesses. Students learn best by doing. It’s important to establish a relationship that is one

of trust and mutual respect.

My passion for Economics and English at all levels, helps to facilitate students learning by

understanding applications creating a spark within them to do well.

If students know and understand that you care about them and that you want them to succeed, they will rise to the occasion. I see myself as their guide. I strive to help to realize potential

and to pursue the best results, always. If something is worth doing, it’s worth doing well. My

students are asked to reflect on their learning and what I garner from those reflections over

and over again is how proud they are of what they’ve accomplished. They may go into a

problem-set lab, or project thinking one-way but they come away feeling they’ve

accomplished more than they felt possible.
